Aerosmith Collectables Grow in Value

For some fans, there is no such thing as too much Aerosmith.  Band memorabilia is becoming increasingly valuable, and on-line auction sites such as Ebay are helping fans find that most desirable item.  Of course, with a band like Aerosmith, formed in 1970, there is plenty of memorabilia to go around.

The most common memorabilia includes signed and unsigned posters and programs from tour dates, albums and tour T-shirts. Currently you can buy an album signed by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry for $1286.  If that seems a bit extravagant, $314 will buy a photograph signed by Steven Tyler, or for $79 you can get an empty can of fake snow distributed by the band on its 1997 promotional tour.  Still too much?  Never mind - $11 will buy you a single drumstick as used by Joey Kramer on tour, or for $1 you can buy a Joe Perry guitar pick.  No piece of band memorabilia is too small or obscure to sell it seems - a backstage pass from the 1998 tour - backing intact! - is one of the more unusual items currently on sale.

Much of the memorabilia is marketed through auction sites and specialist stores that will provide a guarantee that the item is genuine.  That often takes the form of a certificate of authenticity signed by an expert in the field. This can be particularly important if you are buying an expensive item or are buying something unusual, perhaps as an investment.  For the devoted fan, however, the fact that an item has a personal association with Steve Tyler, Joe Perry or one of the other band members is all that is necessary.
