Aerosmith World Tour 2007

Aerosmith continues to be one of the biggest bands in the world decades after first coming together. Despite a few minor crack-ups here and there, they're still one of the most continually cohesive bands in the history of rock and roll. It could be the money. It could be the music. It might have something to do with their fabulous fashion sense. The Aerosmith World Tour 2007 was a rocking success, visiting 19 countries and putting out 36 eardrum punishing performances.

The band showcased its international appeal, first dropping on Latin America like an owl on a vole for a rapid five-nation lineup before crossing the Atlantic for a trip to the Middle East, Asia and Europe. You might not think that Aerosmith would have many fans in Dubai, but they packed the Autodome there with few problems. If the world is split into two or three permanently warring spheres as some politicians and academics would have it, Aerosmith has an inexplicable cross-cultural appeal - although the small country on the Persian Gulf is better known for its five-star hotels than for its madrasssas.

The tour was planned to help build up interest for their new album to be released in 2008. Even with record sales in the industry declining year by year, Aerosmith continues to draw attention as it continually re-invents itself to fit changing tastes while maintaining its roots in as trend-setters of the 1970s and 80s, pleasuring old and new fans alike. They could just retire and rest on their laurels, but they just enjoy touring, recording and being rock stars far too much to kick back and work on their golf games.
