Joey Kramer

Sometimes being the drummer of a famous rock band means instant press and fame, but sometimes it means that you go virtually undetected. Joey Kramer is the drummer for the band Aerosmith, though his life is not half as glamorous when compared to bandmates such as the “Toxic Twins.”

Kramer is a man that loves his music, family, and classic cars – that about sums it up. Born in the Bronx during the 1950s, Kramer joined Aerosmith during the early Seventies. Though his life may not be all that interesting, Kramer is the person responsible for coming up with the name “Aerosmith” (a name that he tossed out to band members one day). Kramer lives with his wife April in Marshfield, Massachusetts, though the couple also have a home in South Florida. Kramer enjoys collecting foreign cars, and he has a passion for sports cars as well. In fact, Kramer loves cars so much that he actually owns a car dealership in Plymouth, MA – incidentally, Kramer was also the first person in North America to bring the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder to North American soil.

Of course, touring with Aerosmith means a bit of drug use (or, it used to), and, as did the rest of his bandmates, Kramer quit using drugs during the Eighties (though he was never into substance abuse as much as other band members). Kramer has done the least with his musical career out of all the Aerosmith boys. Though he beats the drums along with some of the most popular musicians in history, Joey Kramer is just your average car lovin’ guy.
