Joe Perry’s background is not like other rockers of his generation. Perry did not grow up upon tough city streets and his life was not full of hard knocks from the start. Instead, Perry was born into an immigrant family of Italian and Portuguese descent in the quaint town of Hopedale, Massachusetts.

Perry’s life was relatively normal as a child, and he did the things that many small town children do. Perry attended Vermont Academy boarding school during his high school years, and it wasn’t until graduation that Perry reached out to music. When Perry first began to play his music, it was in the form of a band that he had formed with fried Tom Hamilton called “The Jam Band.” This band did not have many followers, and some believe the band to be nothing more than a sad excuse for a Rolling Stones cover band. Still, once they met Steven Tyler, Aerosmith began to form and they released their famous platinum albums (Toys in the Attic, Rocks, and others). Entirely corrupted by Tyler, Perry would eventually turn to drugs and join Tyler on an all out escapade to swallow the most substances in the land during the late 1970, which is why the duo was known as the “Toxic Twins.” After Perry had sobered up, he rejoined Aerosmith and released his own solo album in 2008 called Joe Perry – the album was received favorably.

Perry’s personal life is an eventful one and the singer has drifted in and out of love with former wife Elyssa Jerret. The couple had one son named Adrian, though Perry is now married to Billie Paullete Montgomery Perry. Perry and Billie Paullette have two children (Tony and Roman). Presently, Perry’s son from his first marriage (Adrian) and his son Tony have formed the band TAB the Band. Perry often brings his entire family to shows with him, and he maintains a healthy family life at present. Interestingly, Perry has recently introduced a line of hot sauce called Joe Perry’s Rock Your World Hot Sauces, which are quite famous as of late. Perry is also an avid cook and he loves to prepare meals for Aerosmith while they are on tour.
